COVID-19: Srinagar administration installs sample collection units, decontamination chambers in hospitals, quarantine centres

The Srinagar disaster management authority Wednesday set up COVID-19 sample collection units at four hospitals and two quarantine centres in the district.

The hospitals where these were installed include CDH, SMHSand JLNM with two units each, and SKIMS Bemina with one unit.

   

The administration has also decided to install these – twoeach – at other hospitals including LD, GB Pant, B&J, SSH and KNS Sonwar.

The quarantine centres where these were also set up includeKU and NIT. In each of these two units of sample collection were installed.

The setting up of these units in all these hospitals andquarantine centres is to enable widest possible sample collection of suspectedcases to test for COVID-19.

Meanwhile the DDMA has also installed decontaminationchambers at JLNM and SKIMS Bemina hospitals.

The installation of decontamination chambers is aimed atpreventing spread of COVID-19 into and out of these hospitals.
