Hurriyat (M) chairmanMirwaiz Umar Farooq Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was placed under house arrest on Mondayin view of shutdown and Eidgah chalo called by the separatists on Tuesday.
Confirming his detention, a police official said that restrictions will be imposed tomorrow in parts of Downtown Srinagar as a “precautionary measure”.
He said restrictions willbe imposed in areas falling under the territorial jurisdiction of Nowhatta,Rainawari, Khanyar, MR Gunj and Safa Kadal police stations.
The separatist leadershiphas called for a shutdown tomorrow to mark the death of Mirwaiz Muhammad Farooqand Hawal martyrs.
A spokesman of AwamiAction Committee had earlier said that Mirwaiz will lead a ‘peacefulprocession’ tomorrow from Jamia Masjid to Eidgah.
