Residents of Bota Shah Mohalla Lal Bazar area have expressed resentment over failure of authorities to undertake pruning of a decayed Chinar saying it poses risk to their lives and property.
“The Chinar has decayed and its branches fell even after slight winds. Recently during the windstorm, people had a narrow escape and several vehicles were damaged after its branches fell on ground,” said a delegation from the area led by Mehraj-u-Din Misger. The Chinar is opposite J&K Bank branch Lal Bazar.
“We make a fervent appeal DC Srinagar to direct the concerned officials to take measures for avoiding any untoward incident due to collapse of the Chinar branches,” Misger said.
