Doon International School (DIS) Srinagar hosted the first edition of Kashmir Institution of Model United Nation Conference ( KIMUN) here
The school in a statement said the two-day event organizedby the Patrimony in collaboration with Voler Haut MUN at DIS Srinagar wasorganised for the first time in the valley.
The participating schools were Green Valley, Briscoe,Mallinson Girl’s, DPS Srinagar and DIS Srinagar. The participants were placedin five different committees and these committees were – UNSC, UNHRRC, LokSasha, Game of Thorns & International Press. Each committee comprised ofabout 30 students.
On the opening day, Chairman DIS Srinagar Showkat HussainKhan appreciated the initiative undertaken for the first time in the valley bythe KIMUN organisers to open the first chapter of the UN Model Conference inSrinagar.
The chief guest of the event Dr. Sadaquat RehmanDraboo, clinical psychologistappreciated the effort undertaken by the young council members. Principal DISSrinagar highlighted the crucial relevance of the conference in citizenbuilding and leadership development.
