Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole Tuesday visited SK Stadium here to take stock of the arrangements being put in place for smooth conduct of I-Day function.
The main function shall be held at the stadium, where Lieutenant Governor (LG), Manoj Sinha shall hoist the tri-color and take salute at the March- past.
The Divisional Commissioner stressed upon officers to ensure fool-proof arrangements for smooth conduct of the function and added that there shall be no relaxations to any loopholes.
He instructed them to ensure strict adherence to COVID19 protocol while holding functions in Srinagar and other districts.
He also instructed the concerned that students who can’t participate in parade and cultural events due to the pandemic, however, shall participate through digital platforms.
The Divisional Commissioner directed concerned to install LEDs at public places to ensure live- telecasting of programmes for wide publicity.
During the visit, the Divisional Commissioner said all those participating in March-past and cultural events shall undergo antigen testing as a precautionary measure to ensure safety and containment of COVId19.
Besides, he said, participants shall also be allowed to attend the function after their temperature check up is conducted through thermal guns at all entry points.
During the visit, the Divisional Commissioner also inspected various galleries and reviewed arrangements for COVID warriors to be accommodated at one of the pavilion for recognition of the services they have rendered during pandemic.
Pole also took stock of security arrangements, traffic, security passes, seating arrangements, refreshment, changing room facilities, drinking water and sanitary facility, separate parking arrangements, decoration, commentators, PAS, and other facilities and directed concerned to ensure all arrangement were put in place for smooth conduct of the function.
The Divisional Commissioner on the occasion was accompanied by IG Police, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar; Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary and other civil administration and police officers were also present on the occasion.
