DPS Srinagar holds first-ever SAT exam in J&K

In a first, Delhi Public School, Srinagar on Saturday conducted the first SAT examination under the guidelines provided by ETS, USA.

A statement said SAT or Scholastic Aptitude Test was an entrance exam used by almost every College and University in the west especially US to make admission decisions.

   

It is a multiple-choice, pencil-and– paper test created and administered by the College Board, said the statement, adding the SAT was not only a highly recommended test but an extremely important one as it was the first criterion of eligibility.

Most students take their SATs during their high school years. The candidates appearing in the examination expressed great joy, said the statement. “All of them seemed to be highly satisfied with the examination environment and professionalism exhibited by the SAT examination faculty of DPS, Srinagar,” it said.

On the occasion, Principal, Alistair R A Freese, said, “We are so glad to be the trendsetters in Jammu and Kashmir.”

The exam marks the beginning of aspirants’ comfort and ease who wish to take the SAT exams, said the statement. Moreover, this shall make the students in Srinagar aware of this exam and develop “SAT Culture” so that the students do not give up on their aspirations, it said.

Chairman, DPS, Vijay Dhar congratulated the school on the achievement. “I am proud that DPS Srinagar has accomplished this distinction of holding the first SAT exams in J&K. It is a testimony of the quality of our resources – both human and infrastructure,” he said.

The statement said Delhi Public School would be conducting forthcoming SAT examinations in the months of September and October, 2020 as well.
