Drug de-addiction awareness programme held at Bemina College

A drug de-addiction awareness programme was organised at Abdul Ahad Azad Memorial Degree College, Bemina, (Cluster University Srinagar).

The event was part of awareness campaign of the college toprevent drug abuse.  On the occasion Dr.Nasreen Aman, principal of the college highlighted objectives of the event andpresented scenario of drug abuse in Kashmir.

   

Dr. Sameer of Psychiatric department highlighted  biological activity of using drugs inexcessive quantity. Prominent religious scholars Mufti Nazir Ahmad Qasmi andMufti Muhammad Sultan underscored the need to control drug menace which isspreading fast among youth.

Later, an interactive session was held with students.  The organisers in a statement said the mainaim of the programme was to spread awareness amongst the student community totake necessary steps for curbing the drug menace

The programme was conducted by Dr. Tanveer Andrabi,department of chemistry of the host college. The programme was organised by thecollege Eco and Health club in association with Helping Hands Srinagar Kashmir.
