Police today arrested a drug peddler here and recovered drugs from his possession.
“One person identified as Ishaan Najar of Zaina Kadalwas arrested for drug supply offences and shifted to Police Station Karan Nagarwhere he remains in custody.
Officers at the checkpoint established near Syed MansoorBridge intercepted a motor cycle bearing registration number JK01L-0605 andseized Charas weighing 105gms from possession of Ishaan Najar. Two wheeler hasalso been seized in the matter. Case FIR No. 29/2019 under relevant sections oflaw has been registered in Police Station Karan Nagar and investigation hasbeen taken up,” police spokesperson said in a statement.
“Community members are requested to come forward withany information regarding drug peddlers in their neighborhood. Persons foundindulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actionsagainst drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are makingefforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace,” thestatement said.
