Residents of Wanbal here have appealed to authorities to take action against some families encroaching on the Wanbal-Yayil road by building huge pillars supporting their boundary walls abutting the already narrow road.
“Some residents living along the road have started building massive pillars on the road to support their boundary walls,” said Mushtaq Ahmad, one of the residents. “And they have squeezed the already narrow road. This is leaving little space for the traffic to ply.”
The residents have urged the commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation to urgently remove the encroachments and take strict action against the violators of the law.
“If nothing is done to stop the wanton encroachment, this will lead to law and order problem in the area,” said Tariq Bhat, another resident.
