Government puts travelers in heart of city; creates panic among residents

The district administration Srinagar has accommodated students who returned from Bangladesh in the heart of the city. The move has created panic among the people residing in the surrounding areas.

A government employee who resides in the area said thestudents were ferried directly from the Airport and were adjusted in agovernment building in the heart of city.

   

“These studentsshould have been kept at proper place after proper check up by the doctors.But, the administration took shifted them here which has created panic amongother residents,” the employee, who also resides in the governmentaccommodation, said.

Deputy Commissioner (DC)Srinagar, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary said only 12 to 15 left out students wereshifted to a government building in the heart of the city and there was nothingto be panic about it.

“Even if other employees reside there but the studentswho have been adjusted there, are not suspected of COVID-19. No one is infectedamong them,” DC Srinagar said.

He should there should be a common understanding amongpeople that students adjusted at these locations “are not tested positive”.

“If they (students) stay anywhere it should not createpanic for anyone. They are checked by doctors regularly and will be shiftedfrom these buildings on doctors’ advice,” Shahid Choudhary said.
