Governor NN Vohra has greeted the people on the occasion of the International Literacy Day.
According to an official statement, Governor, in his message, observed that the International Literacy Day is celebrated to highlight the importance of literacy to individuals, communities and societies. Literacy enables individuals to develop their knowledge and harness their potential helping them contribute to the wider society. He urged the educated class to contribute towards spreading literacy and enabling all illiterates to be able to read and write. The advancement of literacy shall speed up the pace of human and economic development. The Governor expressed the hope that the State’s literacy rate, presently 65.57 %, shall soon cross 90 percent, the statement said.
