Governor reviews facilities for Amarnath pilgrims at Pantha Chowk transit camp

Governor Satya Pal Malik, who is also Chairman Shri Amarnath Shrine Board, today visited the transit camp at Pantha Chowk to review the facilities made available for the yatra pilgrims.

During his visit, Governor inspected the medicarearrangements, lodging, langar, power and water supply, sanitation,transportation, 24×7 control room, traffic plan, security and other essentialfacilities available for pilgrims in the Transit Camp.

   

Governor emphasized on maintaining coordination among allthe departments and agencies concerned for the smooth conduct of the annualyatra and ensuring that the Yatris are provided best possible facilities. Hedirected all officers to ensure that every pilgrim is provided the requiredguidance and assistance for completing his Yatra without facing anyinconvenience.

Governor interacted with pilgrims and inquired about theamenities being provided by the administration. Yatris expressed completesatisfaction over the arrangements made by the State Administration for theircomfortable stay at the transit camp.

Governor observed that the State Government is committed toprovide quality, round the clock and hassle-free facilities to the yatris forthe successful conduct of Yatra.

Governor was accompanied by Dilbagh Singh, Director Generalof Police, Umang Narula, Chief Executive Officer, Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB),Baseer Khan, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Muneer Ahmad Khan, ADGP Law andOrder, S P Pani, Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir and Dr. ShahidIqbal Choudhary, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar.
