Govt deptts gear up for mandatory COVID19 screening of employees

Several departments here have issued directions to the employees to undergo mandatory COVID19 testing in compliance to the orders from the district administration.

As per the order, COVID19 testing will be carried out department-wise to cover all the employees working in different departments.

   

“We have also received the order copy and asked our employees to be available for screening as and when we are given a schedule,” said Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Gazanfar Ali.

He said the employees have also been asked to ensure adherence to the health guidelines the day samples are collected.

An official said that the district health department was planning to complete the testing within the shortest possible time.

As per the order, directions have been passed to heads of all government departments within the jurisdiction of Srinagar to ensure that no employee was allowed to enter office until they get their COVID certificate.

As per the guidelines, the certificate shall be duly attested by the head of the office and shall be valid for 15 days.

Irrigation and Flood Control Department Srinagar has also geared up for conducting tests of its employees.

“We are ready and have also informed our employees about the fresh guidelines. We will strictly follow these guidelines,” said Ajaz Keen, Assistant Executive Engineer I&FC Srinagar.

Officials from other departments and corporations also confirmed that fresh guidelines about COVID19 screening were being implemented in letter and spirit. “In fact, these guidelines are in the interest of all of us. This will ensure that workplaces are safe and employees don’t doubt each other for being COVID19 suspects,” said an official.
