Govt to start survey to ascertain corona spread in Srinagar

Principal Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department (HUDD), Dheeraj Gupta, Monday chaired for devising an effective mechanism for planning, conduct and supervision of door-to-door survey in Srinagar to ascertain spread of COVID19.

The meeting had threadbare discussion on various issuesregarding the pandemic, with emphasis on the status of resources ofMunicipalities and Urban Local Bodies along with building up of capacity interms of material and human resources.

   

The Principal Secretary, while assessing the safety measuresfor the manpower on duty during the pandemic, emphasized the need for makingavailable all requisite protection gears for workers and staff deployed onsanitation works.

He asked the department to put in their best efforts towardsachieving the objective of ensuring cleanliness and sanitization of the areasto contain further spread of the pandemic.

The door-to-door survey will also be conducted in Jammucity. Among others present in the meeting were Deputy Commissioner Jammu,Sushma Chauhan; Director National Health Mission, Bhupinder Kumar; CommissionerJammu Municipal Corporation, Avny Lavasa; VC JDA, Babila Rawal; Director UrbanLocal Bodies Jammu, Veerji Hangloo; Special Secretary HUDD, Muhammad HaroonMalik and Additional Secretary HUDD, Pankaj Sharma.

Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary;Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Gazanffer Ali; Director UrbanLocal Bodies, Kashmir, Riyaz Ahmad Wani and Vice Chairman, LAWDA, Tufail Mattoattended the meeting through video-conferencing.
