HRCC completes drainage work in 'record time'

Greater Kashmir

Srinagar, June 15: Where there’s a will, there’s a way. This maxim holds true at-least for the drainage work along Hyder Pora highway stretch where everything from digging of trenches to laying of pipes and subsequent blacktopping was completed within days even though the similar task in the past took years.
This work, believed to have been done in record time, was part of ERA’s mega storm water drainage project. In the past the project execution had witnessed hiccups for years amid delay in shifting of utilities by concerned including PDD and PHE.
The Hassan Road Construction Corporation Company (HRCC) Director Omer Yaqoob Mir, a civil engineer by profession is elated at execution of work in “record time that too along busy highway.”
“Basically having learnt from past now we improved the skills of executing deep drain work, which is new for Kashmir,” he said.
Omer equally hailed the ERA officials and District Development Commissioner Farooq Ahmed Shah for their “constant monitoring and support to make the work hassle-free.”
