IGNOU holds induction meeting for learners

IGNOU Regional Center Srinagar held an induction meeting for the learners of batch of June 2018 at the Lala Arifa Auditorium of Government College for Women, M. A. Road, Srinagar here. 

According to a statement, besides the learners and counsellors of the Study Centers the meeting was attended by the Regional Director Dr Noor Ul Hassan, Coordinator A.S. College Study Center Prof Tariq Ashie, coordinator Study centre Women’s college Prof Masood Ahmad Malik, coordinator S. P. College Study Center Prof Farhan, coordinator Gandhi College Study Centre Prof Javaid Ahmad Kamli and other office bearers of IGNOU. 

   

Welcoming the guests and learners, Prof Masood Ahmad Malik, introduced the concept of open and distance learning to the participants and the role that is expected from them for success in the system. Later Prof Tariq Ashie in his address  threw light on the different aspects of learning through IGNOU and the differences between the conventional and distance learning. 

Dr Noor Ul Hassan in his address charted out the details about functioning of IGNOU in Kashmir. He made an exhaustive presentation about the admissions, study material, counselling and examinations being conducted by the university. He also answered the queries raised by the learners during the question answer session. Vote of thanks was presented by Prof Javaid Kamli, wherein he exhorted the learners to adapt to the new educational technologies emerging on the global level.
