District administration Monday demolished an illegally raised double-storied shopping complex on state land near Pantha Chowk here.
An official statement said the structure was raised in disregard of earlier prohibitions in December last year when an FIR under section 447A of RPC was also registered against the violator. Taking strong notice of this violation, the administration swung into action razing the structure to the ground.
“The team involved in the demolition comprised officials from the Revenue and R&B departments assisted by officials from the Police. The SHO concerned has been asked to keep close watch and ward over the land in question,” the statement said.
“The administration warns general public against such violations made on the State land anywhere in the district will be dealt with sternly under relevant sections of the law,” the statement added.
