In Srinagar, 911 of 1,165 person test negative for COVID19

Of 1,165 people screened for COVID19, 911 persons have tested negative for the infection while the reports of 176 persons are awaited. The district has 78 COVID-19 patients, the official data showed.

Thepeople tested include persons mostly those from red zones, comprising familymembers, neighbors and other contacts of COVID19 patients.

   

Srinagarhas 15 COVID19 red zones – Eidgah, Goripora, Nowshehra, Hawal, Ahmed Nagar, LalBazar, Hyderpora, Natipora, Jawahar Nagar, Chattabal, Bemina, Tengpora, Khayam,Nishat, and Lasjan.

“Srinagar has 78 positivecases. Of them 65 are active cases, 12 persons have recovered and one personhas died,” said Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Syed Sajad Qadri.

Srinagar has reported thehighest number of COVID19 cases among all districts of Jammu and Kashmir. Qadrisaid 1,902 persons who were quarantined after their arrival from other statesor countries at Srinagar Airport were discharged from administrative quarantineafter remaining under 14 days necessary medical observation. All thesetravelers were found fit by medicos.

In J&K, 59,205 travelers and persons in contact withsuspected cases were put under surveillance which includes 7,631 persons inhome quarantine and facilities operated by government, 281 in hospitalisolation, 260 persons in hospital quarantine and 27,366 under homesurveillance. Besides, 23,662 persons have completed their surveillance period.
