2 elderly found dead at Sekidaffer workshop

Srinagar, Dec 10: Panic gripped Sekidaffer and its adjoining areas Monday morning when one-after-another two aged persons, carpenters by profession, were found dead under mysterious circumstances in their workshop there, police and reports said. 
 Residents said body of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Bhat (70) of Sakidaffer, was found in the workshop near his residence last night.
 Bhat, his family said, had left for workshop Sunday morning, but did not return home till late in the evening. “Later after through searches we found his body in the workshop,” said Muhammad Sadiq, a close relative of Bhat, adding that the workshop was owned by the deceased.
 Sadiq said that Bhat used to come home for lunch from the workshop everyday. “But on Sunday he did not come for lunch. We thought he must be busy,” Sadiq said.
 Bhat was buried on Monday morning. And soon after his last rites, the body of his colleague Ghulam Qadir Bhat of Nowpora was also recovered from the same spot.
 “The family members of Gulam Qadir who had come to offer condolences told us that he too had not returned home. We searched for him and found his body in the same workshop,” Sadiq added.
 The death has sent shockwaves in entire Sakidaffer and its adjoining areas. “The deaths have created panic in our area,” Abdul Rashid, a Sakidaffer resident said, adding that they were unable to understand the cause of the two deaths.
 Muhammad Amin, a resident of Safa Kadal said this is for the first time in his entire life that two bodies were found at the same spot. “We are hopeful that police will solve the mysterious deaths,” he said. 
 When contacted police said it has started inquest proceedings under 174 CrPc. “Postmortem of second body was carried out. No injury was found on the body,” officials at Safa Kadal police station told Greater Kashmir. “The doctors have sent samples for FSL and report will help in investigations,” he added.
