Member Parliament, Tariq Hamid Karra has asked the Airports Authority of India (AAI) to improve facilities at the Srinagar International Airport for convenience of passengers.
Karra was chairing a meeting of the Aerodrome Advisory Committee at the Airport. On the occasion, Karra reviewed the facilities available for the passengers. Karra and committee members emphasized to start late night domestic flight operations in view of tourist season. The members also demanded International flights operation from the Airport.
Karra reiterated that the matter has been already taken up with Ministry of Civil Aviation decision is likely to be taken soon.
"It was also decided in the meeting that Chairman will take up naming Srinagar International Airport as Sheikh-ul-Alam, International Airport with the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Ministry of home Affairs," an official communiqué said.
