KU extends logistic support to Health Deptt in fight against COVID19

The University of Kashmir (KU on Tuesday decided to extend its logistic support to the Health Department in the fight against COVID19.

A team comprising officials from National Health Mission andHealth Department of J&K had a detailed meeting with the Vice Chancellor,KU Prof Talat Ahmad, in which COVID19 testing measures at KU were discussed.

   

The team visited varsity’s Biotechnology, Biochemistry andClinical Biochemistry departments and took stock of the labs and facilitiesavailable at these departments in terms of equipments and other logisticalsupport which could further boost the testing measures in the fight againstCOVID19

The team also interacted with scientists and some facultymembers in these departments and sought their scientific inputs and feedbackfor smooth conduct of COVID19 tests at KU.

During the interaction it was decided by the varsityauthorities that in order to augment the COVID19 testing facilities in J&K,the University will provide RT-qPCRs, Refrigerated Centrifuges and otherequipments to the Health Department.

On the occasion, Prof Ahmad assured the team that Universitywould provide all necessary support and guidance to the Health Department inthe battle against COVID19.
