KU qualifies for SPARC scheme

University of Kashmir has becomes eligible for scheme for promotion of Academic and Collaborative Research (SPARC) an initiative launched by Ministry of Human Resource Development.

The initiative aims at improving the research ecosystem ofIndia’s higher educational institutions by facilitating academic and researchcollaborations between Indian institutions and the best institutions in theworld from 28 selected nationsto jointly solve problems of national andinternational relevance.

   

Indian institutions ranked in the top 100 by NIRF rankingare eligible for the SPARC scheme.

University of Kashmir which figures among the top100universities as per NIRF ranking comes under the SPARC programme.

A high level meeting was held today under the Chairmanshipof Vice Chancellor KU Prof. Talat Ahmad to deliberateon various aspects of theSPARCScheme.

Vice Chancellor emphasised on wider participation of facultymembers in the scheme to strengthen collaboration between University of Kashmirwith top research groups in the world, so that University scientists andstudents can interact with the finest minds in the world.

Prof. Talat further said that participation in SPARC wouldgive a boost to academics and research at the University. Coordinator SPARC,Dr. Altaf Bhat, gave a detailed presentation regarding the scheme. The meetingwas also attended by Registrar, Dr. Nisar Ahmad Mir, Dean, College DevelopmentCouncil, Prof. Mohi-Ud-Din Sangmi, Dean Research, Prof. Zafar Reshi and Deansof all Faculties.
