KU V-C bereaved

A renowned social personality, Syed Habibullah Andrabi, passed away on Wednesday morning after brief illness.He was father of vice chancellor University of Kashmir Prof Khurshid Iqbal Andrabi. 

Hundreds of people from all walks of life participated in the Nimaz-e-Jinazah of the deceased, at their residence at Nobugh, Pathan Colony, Zakura here. 

   

Governor NN Vohra expressed grief over the demise. In a message, the Governor has prayed to the Almighty for granting peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family to bear this loss.

Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has condoled the demise. The CM, who is also the pro chancellor of the university, has prayed for peace to the departed soul and conveyed her sympathies with the bereaved family.

KU’s dean Academic Affairs Prof Musadiq Amin Sahaf, registrar Prof Khursheed A Butt, dean Research Prof Zaffar Reshi, dean College Development Council Prof Neelofar Khan, other deans of faculties, controller of Examinations Dr Mohammad Yousuf Bhat, director Convocation Complex Dr MS Sumbli, heads of various departments condoled the demise. 

Directors of various centers in KU, all office-bearers and members of Kashmir University Teachers’ Association, Kashmir University Officers’ Association, Kashmir University Ministerial Staff Association, directors and staff of KU’s north and south campuses as well as Institute of Engineering Zakura campus, public relations officer and staff of V-C’s secretariat condoled the demise and expressed their sympathies with the bereaved family, especially Prof Khurshid Iqbal Andrabi, in this hour of inconsolable grief.

A joint condolence meeting of the KUTA, KUOA, KUMSA was held at the University’s Convocation Complex in the afternoon where the members prayed for peace to the departed soul and forbearance to the family to bear this irreparable loss.

Meanwhile, KU vice chancellor’s forum today condoled the demise. The members of the forum met here in the office chambers of the KU V-C and prayed for peace to the departed soul and expressed their sympathies with the bereaved family in this hour of grief.

Central University of Kashmir (CUK) V-C Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir, registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar, finance officer,  Bashir Ahmad Haji, various faculty members, and administrative staff have expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise 

Islamic University of Science and Technology, Awantipora has also condoled the demise. On behalf of the IUST, dean School of Business studies, Prof. A. M. Shah, registrar, Reyaz Rufai and other university officials visited the residence of the deceased to share grief and to express sympathies with Prof. Andrabi. Syed Habibullah Andrabi was also the father of director Agriculture Kashmir, Syed Altaf Aijaz Andrabi.
