Locations of Srinagar COVID-19 patient’s 11 co-passengers sanitised

Eleven different locations where the co-passengers of coronavirus positive patient reside were sterilized and sanitized on Friday by the authorities.

The move is an attempt tobreak the chain of virus transmission in Kashmir after a woman with travelhistory to Saudi Arabia was tested positive for the virus on March 18 evening.

   

Special teams of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) weredeputed to all these eleven locations for sterilization and sanitization.

“The process was notlimited to any particular house or structure. It was meant for entire area aco-passenger belongs to,” said Qazi Javaid, SMC Health Officer.

SMC Commissioner GazanfarAli said that 14 buildings declared as quarantine centres were also sterilizedand sanitized.

“Further, SRTC buses andambulances were also brought under this process. The sitting lounge and otherpremises at Srinagar Airport was also thoroughly sterilized and sanitized,” headded.
