Measures issued to combat Corona Virus in Srinagar

The District Magistrate Srinagar Shahid Choudhary has issueda list of measures to contain the spread of Corona Virus in Srinagar.

According to order issued on Tuesday, all medical colleges,universities, coaching centres and other educational institutions — governmentand private — shall continue to remain closed till further orders. The Headsof departments/institutions shall devise/submit proposal for televisedcoaching/classes at least by March 20 which shall be supported/financed by thedistrict administration of Srinagar.

   

“All Hostels and Canteens shall remain closed tillfurther notice.

All gardens and parks in district Srinagar shall remainclosed till further notice issued by DDMA Srinagar. It shall be responsibilityof concerned Estates Officer to ensure that the parks are not opened to publicin any case till such notification is issued,” the order reads.

The order further reads that no restaurants, food courts,food joints, street food kiosks, roadside eateries, community kitchens, homedelivery of food services etc. shall operate in district Srinagar till furthernotification by DDMA Srinagar.

“No conferences, workshops, rallies, gatherings, sit inprotests etc. shall be organised till March 31, in the first instance.

No community hall, government or private, shall offer anybooking, henceforth, for any public function, social or religious.

No Gymnasiums, Saloons, Spa etc. shall operate till furtherorders.

No clubs, including Government/Semi Government/Private,shall operate till further notification by DDMA, and after proper sanitation,certification from SMC as and when required by the authority,” the orderreads.

The order said that it shall be mandatory for touroperators, travel agencies to decide details of 100 per cent bookings donethrough them for all International/National air travel, which may include localroad journeys, Director Tourism, Kashmir shall obtain such details and providethrough nodal officer as finalised in meeting held on March 16.

“The public transport as of now shall remain underconstant vigil by traffic police and traffic department as per the decisionstaken in meeting of DDMA held on March 16. Any vehicle found overloaded shallbe seized by traffic police and not released till further orders,” theorder reads.

The order reads that in case of any violation of thedirections action as per the law will be taken.

“The district control room of DDMA is operational 24 by7 and can be contacted for any assistance/information. Citizens are alsoencouraged to report any cases or any areas of concern,” the order reads.
