A mega procession wastaken out Monday in Ramban during the celebrations of Shivratri.
In the procession, which started from Maitra Shiv Mandir,hundreds of devotees participated. They chanted religious slogans and sangBhajans.
Before the procession was taken out, a number of speakersthrew light on the festival, saying that it symbolizes the values of piety,devotion, brotherhood and harmony.
Meanwhile, Kashmiri Pandits celebrated ‘Herath’ in the town.”This festival is an important aspect of Kashmiriyat and symbolizes the truebond of love and amity between Pandits and Muslims,” Ashok Koul, a KashmiriPandit, said.
Several special stalls were established by the people enroute the procession and prasad was distributed among the devotees.
After passing through various markets of the town,procession culminated at Shiv Mandir, Maitra.
