A multi cuisine restaurant ‘Milestones’, near Hari ParbatFort in Downtown was inaugurated today by a group of inmates from an orphanage.
“We wanted to do something different as city is alreadyfull of food outlets. Our focus will be to provide best quality food, promotingculture and eco-friendly environment,” said Mudasir Bhat, owner of therestaurant.
“Due to our location, visitors can get mesmerizing view ofcity centre, lakes and some best tourist place, at one spot. We are hoping thatit will attract not only locals but also visitors from outside state,” Bhatsaid.
He said the focus will be to promote social gatherings wherepeople can spend quality time together
On the inaugural day, the orphanage inmates participated insight-seeing and other recreational activities.
“We will be serving foods particularly Afghani,Chinese, Indian and other fusion food along with promotion of state’s cultureand ethos,” Bhat added.
The restaurant has a seating capacity of 90 people. A spacein the restaurant has been decorated in typical Kashmiri style, with reed mat(Wagoo) baskets (Fout), cushions with Kashmiri crewel work and a Kashmiri drum(Thumbaknaer).
