A multi cuisine restaurant ‘Milestones’, near Hari Parbat Fort in Downtown was inaugurated today by a group of inmates from an orphanage.
“We wanted to do something different as city is already full of food outlets. Our focus will be to provide best quality food, promoting culture and eco-friendly environment,” said Mudasir Bhat, owner of the restaurant.
“Due to our location, visitors can get mesmerizing view of city centre, lakes and some best tourist place, at one spot. We are hoping that it will attract not only locals but also visitors from outside state,” Bhat said.
He said the focus will be to promote social gatherings where people can spend quality time together
On the inaugural day, the orphanage inmates participated in sight-seeing and other recreational activities.
“We will be serving foods particularly Afghani, Chinese, Indian and other fusion food along with promotion of state’s culture and ethos,” Bhat added.
The restaurant has a seating capacity of 90 people. A space in the restaurant has been decorated in typical Kashmiri style, with reed mat (Wagoo) baskets (Fout), cushions with Kashmiri crewel work and a Kashmiri drum (Thumbaknaer).
