They literally disallow the Tata Sumo cabs from halting at Hazratbal so that no passenger dares to ferry by cabs
The public transport passengers of Hazratbal –Gulab Bagh areas have accused the mini bus operators of taking them for a ride.
The passengers said the mini bus operators plying from Hazratbal stand disallow any Tata Sumo driving down from the GulabBagh-Zakura route to cater to any passengers.
“They literally disallow the Tata Sumo cabs from halting at Hazratbal so that no passenger dares to ferry by cabs,” the passengers said.
“Given the fact the mini buses ply at snail’s pace and have uncomfortable seats everyone wants to travel by Tata Sumo but this high handedness of the minibus bus operators is proving costly,” the locals said.
“We many times brought issue of indiscipline caused by the mini bus operators to the notice of the concerned including police but no action was taken,” the locals said.
They appealed the Senior Superintendent of Police Traffic, Haseeb Ur Rehman, Regional Transport Officer, Mahmood Shah and SP Hazratbal, Rayees Muhammad Bhat to personally look into the matter on priority. “Why are the authorities silent on this violation of rights or is that they want to go by some business interests,” said a delegation of Kashmir University students adding their precious time goes waste by traveling in mini buses at “snail’s pace”.
