Musical fountain, laser show thrown open at SKICC

State-of-the-art musical fountain and laser show was thrown open at SKICC here on the banks of Dal Lake.

A large number of people including tourists viewed themusical fountain and laser show on Wednesday evening. 

   

Officials said the first-of-its-kind facility has come up ata cost of Rs six crores under the Prime Minister’s Developmental Programme(PMDP) scheme.

The musical fountain will run two shows of 15 minutesduration at 6 pm every day. The facility has a seating capacity of 200 personsfor one show and there will be no entry free for visitors for first 15 days

Director SKICC Javed Humayun Bakshi said the musicalfountain will provide an evening entertainment to people of Kashmir and also totourists.

“With this facility, locals as well as tourists can spendsome time here and enjoy music on the banks of Dal Lake. This will also boosttourism sector and also project a positive image of Kashmir,” he said.

He said SKICC is an important venue of the state governmentfor holding national and international conferences and meetings. 

Bakshi said the laser show will also help promote SKICC as alively conferencing facility and also promote MICE tourism.

‘This has added one more attractive product in the tourismplatter of Kashmir and will prove an effective promotional tool as well for the destination,” said Shahnawaz AShah marketing manager marketing SKICC.
