Musical fountain, laser show to be thrown open at SKICC today

Authorities are all set to throw open musical fountain and Laser show at SKICC on Dal banks on April 10.

Officials said the entry to the show will be free and thevisitors will be allowed from rear Cheshma Shahi gate.

   

Secretary Tourism Rigaizn Sampheal said the development ofthis laser show was sanctioned by Ministry of Tourism GoI under PrimeMinister’s Developmental Programme (PMDP) Swadesh Darshan Scheme to boosttourism.

He said that facility has been commissioned to make the citylively and provide entertainment to the locals and also to the tourists. Thelaser show came up at the cost of Rs six crores and will run twice initiallyfrom 6 pm every day. The facility has a seating capacity of 200 persons for oneshow. There will be no entry fee for visitors for first 15 days after itsinauguration on Wednesday, officials said.

Secretary Tourism said the tourism department is creatingadequate infrastructure at all tourist places across J&K so that touristsas well as locals have better experience while visiting the resorts.

Director SKICC Javed Humayun Bakshi said the musicalfountain will provide an evening entertainment to the people of Kashmir andalso to tourists.

“We are lacking evening entertainment here. With thisfacility, travellers can spend some time here and enjoy the music at the banksof the Dal Lake which will also boost tourism sector and also project apositive image of Kashmir,” he said.

He said the laser show will also help promote SKICC as oneof the lively conferencing facilities and also promote MICE tourism.
