NC mourns demise

National Conference on Monday expressed profound grief over the demise of renowned doctor, Muhammad Ali Matto who was brother-in-law of the party President Farooq Abdullah.

Dr Matto passed away here after a brief illness. He was theson of renowned businessman of his times, and a close associate of NationalConference founder Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah, Khwaja Muhammad Abdullah Matoo ofChamardori, Zainakadal.

   

He was brother of former Rajya Sabha member, Ghulam Mohi UdDin Matoo. A man of depth he was known for his humble disposition and cheerfulnature. An upright person, Dr Matto embodied nobility, dignity and grace. Theparty rank and file was in unison with the grief stricken family in particularwith the wife of deceased, Prof Suriya Matto Abdullah, and his daughter Dr NylaAli Khan, said a statem.

The party expressed heartfelt condolences to the Presidentand MP Srinagar, Farooq Abdullah, Vice President, Omar Abdullah and AdditionalGeneral Secretary.

Senior party leaders and MPs, Muhammad Akbar Lone andHasnain Masoodi also expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Dr Matto.

The leaders condoled with the party president Dr FarooqAbdullah, Vice President Omar Abdullah, Additional General Secretary, SheikhMustafa Kamal and Matto family in particular the wife and daughter of thedeceased, Prof Suriya Matto Abdullah, and Dr Nyla Ali Khan respectively.

The MPs prayed for peace to the departed soul and strengthto the grieved families to bear the loss. They also appreciated the call ofmournful family to avoid large gathering.

The incarcerated leadership of the party including GeneralSecretary, Ali Muhammad Sagar; provincial President, Nasir Aslam Wani; chiefspokesperson, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi; senior leaders, Abdul Rahim Rathar,Mubarak Gul, Muhammad Shafi Uri, Tanvir Sadiq Aga Syed Mehmood, ChoudharyMuhammad Ramzan, Shameema Firdous, Hilal Ahmad Lone, Irfan Shah, Mir Saifullah,Ali Muhammad Dar, Bashir Ahmad Veeri, Abdul Majeed Larmi, Muhammad Shafi Shahalso extended unison with the mournful family.

The NC provincial President, Jammu, Devender Singh Rana alsocondoled the demise and paryed for peace to the departed souls. Several leadersfrom Jammu also condoled the demise including Ajay Sadhotra, Surjeet SinghSlathia, Rattan Lal Gupta,  Mushtaq AhmedBukhari, Th Rachpal Singh, Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Javed Ahmed Rana , Sajjad AhmedKichloo, Khalid Najeeb Suharwardhy, Babu Rampaul, Abdul Gani Malik and others.

The Nimaz e Jinazh of the deceased was attended by closefamily members including Abdullah, Omar and and Kamal. The deceased was laid torest at his ancestral graveyard at Ziyarat Hazrat Baha Ud Din GanjbaqshKashmiri (RA) here.

Omar was among few family members who were present at thegraveyard to oversee the arrangement and bid farewell to the departed. On theoccasion he prayed for peace to the departed soul.
