The administration has proposed four additional offline facilitation centres at Srinagar for registration of National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) aspirants, a day after one offline centre was set-up at Delhi Public School here.
The district administration submitted the proposal toNational Testing Agency (NTA) decided to accept the NEET forms in offline modefrom students in wake of the ongoing internet gag in Kashmir for more than fourmonths.
“We have requested Director General NTA to set up four additional centres in Srinagar to allow students to submit their forms in offline mode,” said Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary.
He said around 24,000 aspirants were likely to appear inNEET exams this year from J&K, including around 12,000 from the Valley.
The DC said they have already made 500 computers operationalin 11 additional centres in Srinagar. The DC said the decision by NTA to acceptthe NEET forms in offline mode will bring relief to the students.
“If the NTA agrees then more centres can be established inother districts,” he said.
