Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Shahid Chauduary on late Friday night clarified that the district administration has not ordered closure of any educational institution in the city.
“In wake of unstoppable rumours, heads of all institutions were advised in the day to remain careful. No advise/instructions for shutting down any institution. This NIT notice is apparently a miscommunication,” the DC Srinagar tweeted in response the order issued by authorities of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar ordering for suspension of classwork for all courses in the institute, till further orders.
“As per the notification issued by NIT Registrar, the decision has been taken as per the instructions of district administration Srinagar.
“The notification has been issued in accordance with the instructions received from the district administration Srinagar,” the NIT notification reads.
