The residents of Noorani colony, Peer Bagh have urged Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation to direct concerned ward officer and municipal officers to stop “illegal” construction of a shopping complex on Airport Road adjoining ATM and mobile tower.
“The illegal construction infringes upon our right tolife within municipal limits as the area can’t be turned into a commercialsite. Despite repeated pleas and application to the concerned municipalofficers, a shopping complex is coming up in brazen violation of municipalnorms on Airport road adjoining JK Bank ATM and mobile tower,” saidmembers of a delegation from the colony.
“As per the law it has to be 75 feet away from road andthe shopping complex is coming up within 12 feet. Besides it will infringe onour privacy which is complete residential area. Already a hospital is coming upin the area and now this is going to add to commercialisation of thearea,” they added.
