People’s faith keeps us going in trying circumstances: Farooq Abdullah

National Conference President and MP from Srinagar, Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday said his party is synonymous with aspirations of people and exhibits cultural and religious diversity of J&K.

A statement said several delegations from across Kashmircalled on Abdullah at his residence here to greet him on his release.

   

The delegations comprising workers, party functionaries,delegates and civil society groups who called on the party President had comefrom Qazigund, Amira Kadal, Soura, downtown and Ganderbal.

Addressing the visiting delegations, Abdullah whileextolling enthusiasm of the party functionaries and workers said, NationalConference mirrors the cultural diversity of J&K. 

“It is the unflinching faith of people in us that has keptus going for decades. The way our workers, functionaries have been upholdingthe party flag high in the most trying times is commendable. We have beenlending voice to people irrespective of their religion, region and creed,”Abdullah said.

“Our idea of politics is participatory and it puts peoplefirst,” Abdullah said, adding, he was overwhelmed to see enthusiasm of workers.

Among others who were present on the occasion includeMuhammad Maqbool Bhat, Syed Tauqeer, MY Taing, Pirzada Firoz Ahmad Shah, QaisarJalali, and Dr Syed.

Meanwhile, Dr Farooq has paid glowing tributes to WaliMuhammad Yatoo on his death anniversary on Wednesday recalling his contributionfor strengthening the party.
