Police today claimed to have solved a theft case with arrest of an accused and recovery of stolen item.
“Acting on a complaint of one Muhammad Saleem Hajam son of Abdul Gaffar Hajam resident of Dana-Mazar Safa Kadal that his cell phone was stolen at SMHS hospital where he had come for the treatment of his ailing father. In this regard, a case FIR No.08/2019 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Karan Nagar and investigation started,” police spokesperson said in a statement.
“During the course of investigation, one suspected person namely Mohammad Umar of Sopore Mohallah Rahim Sahab was detained and during his search, the stolen cell phones among seven smart phones and demo phone were recovered from his possession. Further investigation is going on,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, police said five gamblers were arrested at MK Chowk here.
“Playing cards and a stake amount of Rs 5,820 were seized from the gamblers. Case FIR No. 03/2019 under section 13 Gambling Act stands registered in Police Station Zadibal,” the statement added.
