As a part of its public outreach programme, Police today organized a police public meeting at Hazratbal.
The meeting was chaired by SDPO Zakura Musadiq Majid Basualong with SHO Nigeen.
“The meeting was attended by the respectable citizensand community members from the neighbouring area. During the meeting severalissues including drug menace, destroying bhung on the banks of Dal lake,Identification of mischief mongers, check on the movement of anti-socialelements indulging in criminal activities,” police said in astaement.
The SDPO Zakura redressed many issues on the spot andassured them that their other genuine issues pertaining to police will beredressed on priority.
“The general public has hailed the initiative of policein facilitating police public meetings which has allowed citizens to raisetheir concerns freely.The participants thanked Police for professionallydealing with the recent case of physical abuse of a minor girl and subsequentarrest of the accused,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, Police held a public interaction meeting at SDPOoffice west. The meeting was chaired by SDPO West Furkan Qadri.
“Community members and representatives of village Khojbaugh and Maloora participated inthe meeting. They raised various issues including drug menace, trafficcongestion,encroachment, market checking and other issues. The main aim of themeeting was to interact with the community members and representatives from thearea to seek their cooperation for policing activities being undertaken in thearea. The chairing officer assured the participants that their genuine issuespertaining to police will be redressed on priority.
Police has resolved to reach out to the community membersand redress their grievence at the ground level,” the statement added.
