A police constable was critically injured in a suspected militant attack in Khanyar area of Srinagar on Wednesday.
Quoting official sources, news agency GNS reported that gunmen barged inside the home of the policeman namely Mohammad Ilyas and fired at him at Kaw Mohalla Khanyar.
In the incident, Ilyas suffered serious bullet wounds and was shifted to SMHS hospital for treatment, they said.
Iliyas, a selection grade constable is presently posted in Handwara area of north kashmir.
A police officer also confirmed the incident and said that the area has been cordoned off to nab the assailants.
