Ramadan Festival suspended till Monday

The 15-day Ramadan Festival that started earlier this week shall remain suspended till Monday due to inclement weather conditions.

The organisers informed that due to the unfavorable weatherconditions, the festival has been suspended for few days and will resume fromTuesday, May 28. The festival is being organized by Department of Industriesand Commerce, Kashmir in collaboration with the Department of Culture, J&Kwith the aim to relive the spirit of festivity of this holy month.

   

To mention, Ramadan night festival at Kashmir Haat here hasbecome popular among people to break their fast and relish variety of dishesamidst cultural activities.

With several food-stalls set up in the market, cuisines ofdifferent varieties including traditional Wazwan has been made available toattract people in large numbers at the market which operates between 7:30 pm to8:30 pm. A number of food stalls have been set-up inside the park with anethnic Kashmiri touch. Several other popular food brands in the night marketoffer dishes such as chicken tikka, garlic chicken. Many other stalls at themarket attract people with Wazwan delicacies while people will get a chance topurchase jams and jellies.

The Handicrafts Department has set-up a stall sellinghandicrafts while Academy of Art, Culture and Languages ( JKAACL) is planningto hold natia-qalam programs at this special night market in days to come.
