Declared fail as authorities didn''t bother to submit external exam awards
Negligence of authorities of various higher secondary schools in the summer capital in submitting award sheets of external practical exams has cost students dearly.
The students have been declared “not qualified” as the marks obtained in external exams have not been included in their marks sheets.
The students who have been declared as “not qualified” have however secured above 400 marks in their exams. “But the student is declared as failed if he fails to qualify internal and external practical exams,” said a student of Zadibal higher secondary school here.
A group of 20 students said they have been declared as not qualified in one subject- Business studies as the marks obtained in their external exams have not been included in the subject. “We have performed fairly in other subjects and have obtained good marks in theory paper of business studies subject as well but have been declared re-appear as our external marks are missing,” the students said.
The weightage of practical exams was 10 marks- five each for internal and external exams. “But we have been awarded marks for our internal exam only due to which we are failing in the subject,” the students said.
The principal of the government higher secondary school Zadibal said they submitted award sheet of internal exams on time "but there was miscommunication for external exams."
“But we have rectified it and have taken up the matter with JKBOSE. We will submit fresh award sheet to Board and matter will be resolved within two days,” principal said.
Joint secretary in secrecy department of JKBOSE, Muhammad Arif said various schools didn’t submit external award sheets of students on time which resulted in discrepancies in the result.
“We are now receiving award sheets from schools, they are not serious about this issue and add Burdon for us,” Arif said.
