We hail the efforts of chief engineer flood control in construction of concrete side wall along the bund which was deliberately breached to extricate flood water from Shiv Pora area into the Jhelum.

Residents of Rose Enclave Shiv Pora B have appealed Chief Engineer Irrigation and Flood Control Department (IFCD) to direct the junior engineer in-charge works on bund to remove the muck caused by the ongoing construction of the sidewall.

“We hail the efforts of chief engineer flood control in construction of concrete side wall along the bund which was deliberately breached to extricate flood water from Shiv Pora area into the River Jhelum. But, the ongoing work has resulted in muck on the general road towards the colony which is causing lot of inconvenience to the residents,” said Basharat Ahmad, a resident of Rose Enclave.

Echoing the concern of the residents, Muhammad Maqbool said that the Mohalla Committee approached contractor Muhammad Ashraf urging him to remove it or put some material so as to settle it concretely but till date no action has been initiated by the contractor.
