Speed up land acquisition for traffic management: Div Com to officers

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan Monday stressed upon the authorities concerned to speed up rehabilitation process and clear pending cases immediately so that widening work of the city roads takes place at earliest.

The Divisional Commissioner made these remarks whilechairing 249th High-Level Committee (HLC) meeting of Circular Road (CR) projectregarding cash compensation to beneficiaries whose structures came under theproject.

   

The meeting took a comprehensive review of progress ofacquisition on widening of Fateh Kadal-Habba Kadal via Malpora, New ZainaKadal-Old Zaina Kadal via Sabni Kocha, Pantha Chowk-Zewan junction-Sempora,Tankipora-Zaindar Mohalla and Jamallata-Aalikadal roads.

Removal of critical bottlenecks at Naqashpora junction onwestern foreshore road, Nawa Kadal Bridge, Shalla Kadal, Karfalli Mohalla onKani Kadal-Khanwari Road and Shah Mohalla Nawab Bazar on Syed Mansoor NawabBazar roads were also reviewed for acquisition process.

During the meeting, cash compensation in lieu of plots andshops was approved in various cases in favour of affected families whosestructures come under the project. The cash compensation was given to familiesas per field verification, submission of Aadhaar cards and other requisiteformalities.

The Divisional Commissioner directed R&B engineers todemolish those structures immediately whose owners have received compensation.Later, expansion of Peer Dastigeer Sahab shrine at Khanyar, community centre atDrabyar and allotment of shops in SMC shopping complex at Khayam to thedislocated shopkeepers of Syed Meerak Shah and Khanyar-Zadibal-Pandach roadswere discussed threadbare in the meeting.
