‘Stakeholders need to join hands for road safety awareness’

In view of rising road accidents, 98.3 Mirchi FM in collaboration with IFFCO TOKIO General Insurance and Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police launched road safety initiative “Mirchi Traffic Paathshala”.

The volunteers from Mirchi have identified 10 major beats which are most congested including, Sanat Nagar Chowk, Hyderpora Chowk, Dalgate, Chanpora Chowk, Pantha Chowk, Lal Bazar, Batmaloo and Karanagar.

   

At these spots, volunteers with traffic awareness placards will sensitise commuters about Road Safety and traffic rules from today till 23rd of February. 

Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Javid Ahmad Koul, Chief Manager Iffco Tokyo GIC Ltd, Mukhtar Ahmad Lone flagged off the awareness rally.

“It is a dynamic process which requires all stakeholders to come forward.” said Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Javid Ahmad Koul. He further said that several multi level parking spots are coming up which would ease the traffic mess in the city.

In a joint presser, 98.3 Mirchi FM, IFFCO TOKIO General Insurance officials and J&K Traffic Police officials agreed that all stakeholders need to come forward and adhere to traffic rules.
