Residents of Rehmatabad, Airport Road have expressed resentment over defunct streetlight in the area.
A delegation of locals said that the street lights stopped working after new transmission lines were laid recently in the area. “In absence of streetlights, it is difficult for us to move around as soon it gets dark. People going to the local masjid during early morning and evening hours are the worst hit. Our problems get compounded by presence of stray dogs,” they said.
Locals said their problems are not being addressed even though they had approached several officials in the Power Development Department. “They are just passing the buck and making us run from pillar to post. We urge chief engineer PDD to look into the issue and ensure that street lights are restored immediately,” said Basit Ahmad, a local.
