Students protest over exam notification for ‘non-existing paper’

Scores of business administration students from different colleges here on Friday said authorities at Kashmir University have issued an exam notification for a paper which, according to them, was not part of their course.

A group of BBA 2nd semester students said they were shockedto see the notification issued on May 8 regarding exam for the paper, BusinessCommunication, on May 23. The students said the paper was not part of theircourse.

   

Demanding revocation of the notification the students saidthey approached authorities concerned at Kashmir University repeatedly. “Butnobody is listening to us Our career is at stake…the authorities are unmoved,”said a group of students.

They said the issue has led to confusion among the students.”We don’t know what to do. We have been pleading with the college authorities toothat the paper is not part of our course. But so far we haven’t got anyresponse,” said a student, who wished not to be named.   

The University authorities however said they have “noknowledge about issuance of the notification”.

The examination controller, KU, Prof Farooq Mir said, “Wedon’t know anything about it. The students must take up the issue with theircollege principals concerned.”
