Thieves on prowl in Bemina Byepass

Residents of Abu Bakar Colony, Bemina Byepass, here Tuesday complained that thieves were on the prowl in the locality, giving sleepless nights to them.

The residents said during the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, thieves struck again and fled with three LPG cylinders from residential house of Nissar Ahmad Bhat.

“We feel very frightened because it is not the first such incident in the colony. In the past also some houses were looted by the thieves in the colony,” they said.

Bhat said he had kept the three cylinders including one belonging to his brother in the compound of his house. “During the night I heard sound of a load carrier. And in the morning I found all the cylinders missing from the compound,” he said.

Bhat said he lodged a report with police station Batamaloo, and he hoped that the police will investigate into the matter and trace out the thieves.

The residents meanwhile appealed Superintendent of Police, Srinagar, to look into the issue and direct the concerned to trace out the culprits.
