The residents of Toiba Colony, Airport Road, Peerbagh here have sought tangible action by the civil and police administration against the now frequent incidents of burglaries in the area.
The colony residents said there has been an alarmingincrease in the activities of burglars in the area which has triggered immenseinsecurity among residents. “Just two days back the burglars again struck threehouses and stole half a dozen LPG cylinders. It is not just a matter of a fewcylinders, we are feeling insecure in our own homes by seeing how the burglarsare moving freely in our colony,” the residents said.
“We fear for our safety, God forbid if someday we run intothe burglars or they are challenged by some resident, they can cause any harmto us given how brazen they have become,” they rued.
On Wednesday Police post Humhama apprehended three gamblersin the area. The residents said that some bad elements from other areas indulgein gambling and drugs in the vicinity of the Colony and they are the ones whomight be involved in burglaries, appealing civil and police administration toact in the matter to restore atmosphere of security in the colony.
