Youm-e-Qudus: Solidarity rallies held for people of Palestine

To mark Youm-e-Qudus, rallies were held in city centre here to express solidarity with people of Palestine.

Soon after Friday prayers, scores of people including youthand children took out a rally from Abiguzar to Lal Chowk.

   

During the rally people from different walks of lifeprotested against Israeli aggression in Palestine and against support to Israelby western countries.  The protestorslater assembled at Press Colony holding Palestinian flags and placards thatread “Stand up for Palestine”, “Down with Israel.” .

“This is the day when whole Muslim population unites to showsupport for the oppressed people of Palestine,” said Syed Abid Rizvi, a cleric.

“It is because of the support of western countriesespecially USA which allows subjugation of Palestinians. We have assembled fromevery sect to show that we are united when it come to any oppression faced byMuslims. We want to tell oppressed people of Palestine, Rohingiya and MiddleEast that we stand by them,” said Javid Abbas, another protester.

Meanwhile, several processions were taken out under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir ShiaAssociation led by Molvi Imran Raza Ansari.  Several processions were taken out at Gupkar , Shadipora, Sumbal,Khanpora Budgam , Kakerpora Mirgund  andNowlora  Budgam. The processions were ledby Sheikh Muhammad Hasan Zakri, Syed Abass Razvi and Dr. Amjan Abass Ansari.

Jammu and Kashmir Itthad-ul-Muslimeen led by Moulana AbassAnsari also took out processions from Masjid-e-Sajjadiya Chattabal. Anotherprocession taken out from  Mirgund Pattanto Narbabal Chowk led by  Moulana MasroorAbbass Ansari, Aga Syed Yousuf and Muzaffar Rizvi
