Advisor to Governor Farooq Khan Wednesday said that Government is determined to give thrust to the agriculture and horticulture sectors to boost the production and to improve the socio-economic status of the farmers of the state.
The Advisor said this during a meeting to review the implementation of various state and centrally sponsored schemes of Agriculture, Horticulture and allied sectors in Jammu, according to an official spokesperson.The meeting reviewed department wise achievements and implementation of various centrally and state sponsored schemes.
The meeting was informed that the Department of agriculture is currently implementing various schemes under state and central funding including RashtriyaKrishiVikasYojana, National Mission for sustainable Agriculture, National Mission on Agriculture Extension and Technology, National Food Security Mission, National e-Governance Programme for Agriculture, Pradhan MantriFasalBhimaYojana, Pradhan MantriKrishiSinchayeeYojana and others.
Speaking on the occasion, Advisor Khan highlighted the need for maximizing the reach of different schemes and time bound completion of all ongoing programmes and projects. He urged the officers to implement the schemes in letter and spirit for the benefit of the farmers and fruit growers of the state.
