The Baramulla district election officer has rescheduled the meeting of the District Development Council to elect Chairperson and vice-chairperson to February 13.
The meeting as per its scheduled was to be held on Monday. However, the authorities have cited the lack of ‘prescribed quorum’ reason for the reschedule of meeting.
The Baramulla district election officer has now fixed February 13 as new date for the district development council meeting.
“Consequent upon the deferment of the meeting scheduled on Feb 8, for the election of chairperson and vice-chairperson Baramulla due to lack of prescribed quorum and in accordance with the sub rule 6 of 108-ZN of Jammu and Kashmir Panchayati Raj rules, 1996, the meeting of the district development council shall be now held on Feb 13,” reads the order issued by the district election officer Baramulla.
The District Election Officer Baramulla has warned that action shall be taken against the elected DDC members who fail to attend the meeting.
